Zone: 4a-7 Biennial

Growth:  60-100cm [24-36"] tall x wide

Foliage:  Herbaceous; dark green; forms rosette first year, which remains over winter (good to protect with conifer boughs)

Flower:  Large, flared bells all season second year: white, pink, lavender, purple-blue

Light:  Full sun to part shade; prefers early morning sun and shade in hotter part of the day, so eastern exposure is good.

Moisture: Average; best at groun level (overhead watering can cause fungal problems).

Soil:  Average, rocky, well drained

Garden location: Mid-border; edges of woodlands
